A board of twenty directors guides the Foundation in its investments and activities. Fifteen of these directors are members of the Evangelical Methodist Church.

The Harford Christian Educational Foundation exists to support the ministry of Harford Christian School. Since 1966, the school has held high the standard of honoring the Lord Jesus Christ, and funds from the Foundation aid that mission.

Each spring, a grant is awarded to the school. This annual grant goes into the general fund and may be spent in any portion of the operating budget. None of the grant monies come from the corpus of Foundation funds. Bylaws dictate that contributions to the Foundation may never be spent, thus all grants are taken solely from interest and income.

All contributions to the Foundation are tax deductible. Gifts go 100% into the HCEF fund and, by charter, can never be spent. Only the proceeds from investments will be used. Those proceeds go to Harford Christian School in the form of annual grants and individual faculty improvement grants.
